Intercultural Health Institute, the Netherlands started operating on March
26, 2004 as an affiliate of Health Foundation of Turkey. Prof. Dr. Ahmet
Maranki, President of the Institute, has summarized in his statement the
mission of the institute as below:
In the recent years, migration in the world has been increasing and the
number of minorities has been increasing quickly in Europe as well.
Institutions, which provide health and social services, have been serving
people with different cultures, languages, religions and ethnic origins and
the beliefs and cultural understandings of these people may vary
considerably from those who provide these services. Intercultural Health Institute provides training, research, implementation and counselling services for institutions, people, communities and social service
organizations, which provide health services to different cultures.
